Dr. Linda Madyda, DVM

Veterinarian, Owner

Dr. Linda Madyda graduated from the University of Kentucky and then attended the Auburn University of Veterinary Medicine and received her doctorate in 1987. She has been practicing in Brevard County since 1988 and is one of the co-founders of Viera East Veterinary Center. Her special interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and canine rehabilitation.

As a high school student, a biology teacher suggested that she should visit a vet’s office for a career day. When she walked in the door, she knew that veterinary medicine would be her career.

Dr. Madyda is happily married with two adult sons. When not working you can find her on a tennis court, In the gym, walking her german wirehaired pointer Velma, reading or relaxing.

Dr. Alison Bywater, DVM

Veterinarian, Owner

Dr. Alison Bywater graduated from the University of Maryland in 1993 with a Bachelors of Science in Marine Biology. She then attended the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, receiving her doctorate in 1998. After graduation she worked at a small animal veterinary clinic in Baltimore, MD but shortly thereafter she married and moved to Florida where she worked at Rockledge Animal Clinic. In 2001, Dr. Bywater accepted her current position at Viera East Veterinary Center and in 2003 she became a partner. Her special interests include internal medicine, diagnostics, and ultrasound.

Dr. Bywater grew up in Linthicum, Maryland and moved to Florida in 1999. Growing up she always loved animals, but it wasn't until college that she decided she wanted to become a veterinarian. Dr. Bywater stated, “ My job is amazing and incredibly rewarding. Pets are such a special and integral part of each and every family and as a veterinarian, I get the privilege to have a relationship with not only the pet but with the owners as well.”

Dr. Bywater is happily married and has three children who keep her active. She loves spending time with her family and their four dogs and three cats. When not working you can find her either at the soccer fields, camping, hiking, or in the kitchen baking.

Dr. Carlos Basabe Viera East Veterinary Center

Dr. Carlos Basabe, DVM

Dr. Carlos Basabe graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelors as an Animal Health Technologist. After a few years, he decided to go to Vet School and he attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and from there he traveled to Louisiana State University to complete his clinical year. He graduated in 2002 and has worked as a Veterinarian in New York, Puerto Rico, and Florida. From 2010-2020 he owned his own clinic in South Florida but wanted to make a change to spend more time with his family. He started working at Viera East Veterinary Center in 2020 and has loved every minute of it.

Dr. Basabe also earned his certification as an Animal Chiropractor from Parker University in Texas in 2013.

Dr. Carlos Basabe grew up in Puerto Rico as the youngest and only boy to three older sisters and has had a love of animals for as long as he can remember. Becoming a Veterinarian was always his dream and there was never a plan B. Dr. Basabe is happily married and has a young son named Sawyer. He also has quite the extended animal family at home. He has two cats, Banner and Parker, four chickens, 5 finches, a Russian tortoise, a hamster, and two fish tanks. In his spare time, he loves going to theme parks, especially Disney, going fishing, and woodworking.

Dr. Basabe is AVCA certified and a member of the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and the Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA)

Dr. Kristen Credeur, DVM


Dr. Credeur graduated from McNeese State University in 2016 with a Bachelors in Agricultural Sciences, a Concentration in Pre-Veterinary Medicine, and a Minor in Biology. She attended LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated May 2021 and has decided to join us here! Her special interests include internal medicine and theriogenology.

She grew up in Southwest Louisiana with an older brother and her parents. They always had a variety of animals growing up, making her fall in love with them. She always knew she wanted to be a Veterinarian. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading books, and spending time in the outdoors with her two dogs and husband. She’s looking forward to exploring the Space Coast.

Dr. Darcy Forber, DVM

Veterinarian (Acupuncture)

Dr. Darcy Forber graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1991 and earned a BSBA in International Business and then attended St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine and received her Doctorate in 2011. Darcy is also a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) through the Chi Institute in Reddick, FL and currently received her  CVCH (Certified Veterinary Chinese Herbalist). Her special interests are internal medicine, nutrition, and alternative modalities, including acupuncture, herbology, and food therapies. Here at Viera East, Dr. Forber performs acupuncture only.

Dr. Forber was born and raised in Boardman, Ohio, and after spending several years in banking and finance, Darcy decided to pursue her passion for animals. Prior to veterinary school, Darcy spent many years volunteering at the Central Brevard Humane Society. She became an integral member of the Board of Directors in 2002, and later became the Vice President of this organization from 2003-2005. She assisted in the development and organization of several key fundraising and awareness events, which later helped transition this facility to one of Brevard’s most prominent no-kill shelters. After spending several years as a Board Member, volunteer and advocate for animals, Darcy decided to pursue her passion for animals further and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

In her spare time, Darcy enjoys spending time with her 2 cats, Suni (a Blue Point Himalayan) and Bruno (a brown Tabby). She enjoys rowing, running, and yoga, and is an avid New York Rangers hockey fan.
